My dog ate my homework

I love to draw but I never was able to make pictures look real and it would frustrate me. It would start out looking all right then just down hill from here. I got this book from the library.
The book is by Carrie Stuart Parks. She not only can draw wonderfully she is a good writer. This book is very interesting to read and with her step by step instructions anyone will be able to draw. She teaches police how to do composite sketches most of who can draw your basic stick person.  By the end of the class her students drew just beautiful faces!

I was ready to get started I had everything I needed then my dog happened...

My dog Bear

Bear is a 5 year old Golden and is the sweetest dog on the face of the earth with one BIG flaw... he LOVES plastic.  My poor son has lost so many toys to bear that I can't count that high.  Well a few weeks ago he decided to expand on his "food choice" He ate a few of my pencils, my rubber eraser and a few other things. So as I go I will be buying (again) the supplies I need and trying out the stuff in this book and sharing it with you.

Here are before drawings

Lets see how well I can improve my drawings.

  2. Hi, Shelly! Oh No!!! That crazy dog! So, he never gets sick after eating all of that? I have a beagle, and she loves to munch, as well. Luckily, there have been no problems after her indulgences with the chocolate she has gotten into.

And, I LOVE your sketches! Are you serious that you haven't drawn before? I can only do stick figures, but if this helps me, I think I will get this book!

Sorry I have not been a good "blogging buddy". I have been putting together a new, additional blog here: http://www.musicmakersmusings.com. I will catch up soon. God bless!

    T.K.

Oh, PS, there is a blog giveaway for my book "Chord Piano Is Fun" over there at Sarah's Blog of Fun...http://www.sarahsblogoffun.com/2011/03/chord-piano-book-giveaway.html.

  3. TK: No I could draw before this but they are not the best by any stretch! When you read the book you will see the stuff that is off. This book does a WAY better job of teaching so I am going to start over and try again. Seriously she shows before and after drawings of people that took her class! It is like 3 year old drawing to becoming Rembrant (sp?) drawing!! Check it out! Well worth it!! She is a great writer too!
I don't check everyday on the blogging buddy I check like 3 times a week unless I get an email that there was a new blog added.
